" Here's to the end of another crappy year we'll one day be strangely nostalgic for "
Flashback to January 10, 2013
A couple of days ago I was looking through instagram and came across an e-card which I'm sure you all are very familiar with. Those little virtual post card looking things that have funny and sarcastic messages. Anyway, this one in particular caught my attention. It said " Here's to the end of another crappy year we'll one day be strangely nostalgic for ". I immediately started playing back my year and so many memories came to mind.
As we get older, most people always end the year with this mentality. I guess it motivates them to do better the following year. Hoping to end the following one in a more successful way perhaps.
I'm the type of person that always loves my years. Every year just gets better and better. I don't know how to even compare them. However, in all honesty, 2010 was a weird year for me. Thankfully, I was healthy, no terrible tragedies happened in my family, generally speaking, I can't complain. BUT I think I experienced my first ((and only)) heart-break as much as I hate to admit it lol. As a result, as silly as this sounds, I can barely remember the first half of it . For some odd reason, its like I wasn't really feeling anything from January to mid-May. But as everything else in life, that period of time came to an end and I began to enjoy the rest of my year. Aside from the whole pathetic heart-break thing, I really had a wonderful year and I am so thankful for it. Here is a brief sum of it:
Unfortunately went through a heart-break; I decided to buy some angel wings and did a Victoria Secret kind-of want-to-be photo shoot, which was a lot of fun; celebrated one of my best friend's b-day, it was a 3-day celebration, the day after we had a very nice, relaxing and educative day at the Vizcaya museum which I hadn't been to in a very long time ((I have decided to make it a point to visit museums more often)); some guy I had class with about two years ago suddenly was interested, wrote his number on the palm of my hands, we had a couple odd conversations, then he disappeared -__- ; SPRING BREAK: a group of my friends and I had an awesome time at a tiki bar, took full advantage of the beach; my heart really sunk now; found an awesome website: http://www.marcandangel.com and started a self-project which was to write in a journal , basically just answer reflection questions, it's been a fun process so far; my friends came over, spent 3 weeks with me, we did a mini roap trip to Orlando, one day my friends got a little freaky and broke my very nice/sexy/cozy lounge chair; my birthday came around, I didn't do much, just did a BBQ at the pool but had such an amazing time, it was the most fun day I had had in a while at that point, then we went to Fat Tuesdays lol and of course had a 190 Octane and danced the night away; started talking to a new guy ((after 6 months- ridiculous I know, I just couldn't get around it)) , my crazy boss gave me the worst evaluation ever, I didn't care because I landed a new job which I loved, I fell asleep and so I didn't get to meet up with this guy I've been digging for a while- still can't believe I missed what would have been our first date -__- ; I went to Dominican Republic twice, won my first paintball game; road trip to key west, went to many comedy shows; had about the hottest hook up possible with that one guy I'm absolutely crazy about lol, started learning French, went on a cruise to the Bahamas for my other best friend's bday, met some French-Canadians guys, my friend started dating one of them, I started another new job which I have to leave soon because although I like my boss, the guy is out of his mind: started this blog which I'm happy about, had a second-round a couple months later of the 2nd hottest hook up in my life lol ((le'sigh)),I finally got the record player I've been wanting ((it was a Christmas present)), went out to eat to a lot of new restaurants, had a secret-santa party, a co-worker Christmas party, and went to 4 different New Years parties. I think that pretty much takes care of it all. So looking back, it was a disappointing beginning, but a great year in all. =)
